Margarita Mercado-Echegaray

Attorney Margarita Mercado-Echegaray has extensive professional experience in civil trail litigation and appellate litigation, on public and private law issues.As former Solicitor General of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico from 2013 until 2017, she handled high profile and complex cases before local and federal appellate courts, including Puerto Rico and United States Supreme Courts. Attorney Mercado-Echegaray has worked in a leading law firm in Puerto Rico, specializing in insurance and commercial law. She began her professional career as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Annabelle Rodriguez-Rodriguez, Associate Justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court an as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Juan R. Torruella, active judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Attorney Mercador-Echegaray is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in legal writing, appellate practice and in the legal aid clinic where she supervises students to afford legal representation to attorneys in disciplinary proceedings before the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. She will advice and counsel our firm in litigation before the Courts of Puerto Rico and the Federal Court.
